RBConnect is a peer-to-peer resource-sharing network that links employees across the 80,000-men-strong enterprise and in doing so enhances operational efficiency, employee morale and ultimately customer service. Through the application's different modules, employees are able to access resources for work (including templates, best case practices and guidance material), turn to each other for help and advice, launch and sign up to company-wide initiatives or connect with colleagues on a personal level.

RBConnect is not a new tool but a logical extension of an old one, namely RBCnet. As a function within RBCnet, all employees in the employee directory automatically have access to it and do not need to go through a separate log-in process or get used to a radically different interface. Any content added by the user is thus also immediately personalized by name so as to create a real dialogue between people and not one between forum handles.

Younger employees are accustomed to turn to the Internet for information or solutions to their everyday problems: seeking help via phone or the consultation of a manual is not something that is done anymore. At the same time, as the older generation retires and leaves RBC, so do their years of experience and tacit knowledge. RBConnect will bring together the advice that newcomers need, current employees spend numerous hours looking for and retiring individuals can leave behind.
