Project Video Collaboration (PVC) is a library which will enable RBC to share information and transfer knowledge more effectively to meet the changing needs of the workforce. It is an interactive video database that contains brief videos on the key learnings of projects.
Project leaders will make short videos using a webcam describing their key insights acquired throughout a project. They will upload their videos to the company database, where they will be scanned, compressed, and made available for others to see. The individual will be required to fill in certain fields which will allow employees to easily navigate through the database. Employees will be able to save time by quickly searching and viewing a video on a particular subject, as opposed to reading lengthy dull documents.
PVC will be built in-house and security measures will be incorporated. It will be rolled out in phases through different functional areas of the company.
PVC's benefits will be seen by all levels of the company. Transitions between positions are accompanied by new and challenging situations. These transitions will be made easier by providing employees with a resource to learn from other's past accomplishments and mistakes. PVC will ensure that important knowledge and information does not leave as employees move within or leave RBC. The bank as a whole will become more collaborative and produce a more cohesive and productive team.
